like mother like daughter
Happy belated mother’s day to all the mothers!
I hope my mom doesn’t see this because she will be upset that I posted this picture of her….
but I post it for a reason.
Just the way I’m short like her, my nose is like hers, I have her flexibility.
My mom will brag that she used to be able to bring her legs from behind her back and grab her ankles by her shoulders. That’s the kind of mobility she had and is still very mobile because she inherited it from her mother and/or father.
It sounds obvious but I didn’t really think about how Yoga poses that require mobility is very accessible for me because of the bones I inherited from my parents. It’s not like I worked hard to get this mobility… I just have to say, “thanks mom!”
What I do work at is to maintain the mobility that I do have with my Yin Yoga practice and balance out the mobility by gaining strength with my Yang Yoga practice and other muscular activities.
What kind of body did you inherit from your parents and what do you need to maintain it or balance it out?
