two doughnuts

There’s a saying, “We teach what we need to learn.”

There were many times I wanted to quit teaching Yoga, but I am glad I didn’t because teaching Yoga makes me practice Yoga.

Some people are more naturally disciplined. I am definitely not.

If I don’t have a need to get up early in the morning, I will sleep in.
If there are a dozen doughnuts in front of me, I will eat them all.
If there’s no deadline, I won’t do it.

When I know I have to teach and share my knowledge of Yoga, not only does it make me study and practice, I get to receive the benefits of the practice. The more I feel the benefits of the practice, the more it makes me want to keep teaching and practicing.

If you practice consistently, you will feel the benefits sink into your body, mind, and spirit. Everybody finds those benefits show up in their lives in different ways. I see them show up in many ways in my life.

For example, instead of a dozen doughnuts I will only have one. Okay, maybe two.
