Yintrovert
(I promise not every Blog title will start with Yin …)
It’s been three weeks since I taught the last group class in a Yoga studio and have stayed home due to the coronavirus… and I must admit, being an introvert, it hasn’t been that hard for me to stay home.
It doesn’t take much to keep me entertained. A book, a nap, a guitar, just simply breathing…
BUT
my teacher often says “too much of a good thing is bad” and that is always in the back of my head. Which is why I decided during this home quarantine, that once we are allowed to go outside I will challenge myself to venture out to places I haven’t been to and be more active.
We often resist what we need or what gives us a little more balance.
The practice of Yin Yoga has three steps:
Get into the pose
Become still
Hold for a long time
VERY simple… which is why I know it will seem boring to type A people (Yang-type) and will resist this kind of practice. BUT this could bring more balance to their body and their lives.
So, which type are you? What do you resist? What kind of practice do you need and will give you a little more balance?
I naturally have a flexible body and I love practicing Yin Yoga and relaxing which is why I know I must slightly force myself to move and gain strength.
Even though at this point we are still stuck inside the house and I can’t venture out, the one goal I do have is to be able to do a pull-up! Not quite there yet…
